Microsoft Surface Studio Is A Game Changer For Graphics Design Professionals.

Microsoft Surface Studio

Since graphics and design is my business I have a thing or two to say about the new Microsoft Studio PC. First of all it’s gorgeous and at first glance appears to be a very solid and well built piece of tech. Aesthetics aside this machine literally oozes practicality, with a 27” touch screen at your disposal using this with creative apps will be a game changer! The surface pro line is already great and the surface pen is awesome with pressure sensitivity, it actually feels like your holding a pencil. I can only imagine what this will mean for graphics designers who will use this with adobe photoshop, it’s like having a huge canvas to draw on. This news comes at a bit of a disappointment for me considering I just bought a $2000 iMac but I would still love to get my hands on this to try it out.

From what most of the reviewers say its surface is smooth and drawing is really easy to do the Surface Studio because you can tilt the screen at almost any angle, letting you basically lay it down on the table at a 90 degree angle to draw with. Microsoft also added a Surface Dial that you can set on the screen and turn it for shortcuts which gives it added coolness points. The Surface Studio will sell with the latest intel processor (Stab at Apple) and will have pretty beefy specs when compared to the iMac this will look like a no brainer to most consumers. I think Apple is going to have to step up their game a bit in the coming year because Microsoft is slowing becoming the go to devices for creatives which leaves a pretty big hole in Mac sales.

Microsoft Surface Dail

Apple for years have prided themselves for making products for creative professionals and that image is diminishing with every passing year. So now we have Microsoft that is unexpectedly filling the gap that Apple has created over the years. So creatives will now have essentially a 28” touch screen PC with a pen and dial to get work done, this also will be giving the market for drawing pads a run for their money. This is nothing less than a stroke of brilliance from Microsoft even though the price point is very steep I assume this product will do very well considering for the same $3000 price tag you can buy a top of the line iMac and you still would have a less powerful machine without a touch screen. I am super excited about this product but I am also a bit disappointed that Apple left this hole in their product line enabling someone else to come and fill the gap.

I honestly think Apple is just doing the barest minimum to keep sales going, meanwhile a company like Microsoft is filling the gap that Apple left open. The Surface Studio will be available early 2017 at a starting price of $2999.
