Make Money Online Talking About Making Money Online.
Everyone does it, and no one says it. That’s the cold hard truth to online marketing. You can watch hours of YouTube videos of people telling you "how to make money online" except they are not really telling you anything, they are just pointing out the obvious and then baiting you into buying a product that will "potentially" make you some money. I have read a lot of blogs and watched a lot of YouTubers who make their living talking about making money online.
Is It real!? Can you really make money talking about making money!?
In short the answer is yes! Many people do nothing but just talking about how to write a good blog or SEO your website and YouTube videos and boom the cash starts rolling in, but it's not quite that simple. The first thing you have to do is establish a name for yourself and get people to trust you and that’s the hard part of all this. Once people trust that you are being honest with them and start making them money then you are in business!
Give them a freebie and then sell them something later.
Here's the deal, give your viewers a freebie, something that works and makes them a little money. This is just to prove that your system works and then sell them the full package later that can make them some real money. There's no all-in-one comprehensive way to do this, making money online is more than just talking about it there is actually a system to it all but there's never just one way to do it. If you are going to make some serious money online you have to do it in many different ways and that adds up after a while.
The truth about affiliate marketing.
It's hard! You can become an affiliate through most major websites and get paid to advertise for them on your blog or website. Take Amazon for example, you can become an amazon affiliate right now and make money referring people to buy stuff off of amazon. When you make a sale you get a small percentage of the sale, which adds up if you can manage to gain a lot of traffic and display adds relevant to the audience you are trying to reach. All of this of course is easier said than done but if you're already an authority in your niche then this part should be relatively easy for you. Make sure while you are doing this to create relation ships with your viewers and be consistent with your content which brings me to my next point.
Create an E-mail list and build trust with your subscribers.
People subscribe to your E-mail list for only one reason, they like what you are talking about and are potentially ready to buy what you are selling and if you're not selling a product yet then you need to create one. Creating a product can be the most difficult task you have ahead of you besides delivering consistent content. Create something exclusive not public (especially if it is intellectual property), but if you are going to sell your intellect then make sure you give enough information for free so you get the buy in from your subscribers before just trying to sell them stuff. Look at it this way most people don't just buy stuff from random people they know nothing about, even though it does happen but your ten times more likely to sell something to someone that you have already built a relationship with.
Don't give away too much and don't under-sell yourself.
Sometimes it's hard to put value on your own work and even more difficult if you are just starting out with all of this, but set your prices reasonably and don't under-sell yourself for the sake of sales because it's better to make more money off of one customer rather than making less money from fifty customers. Do your research and look at the market to see what other people are selling their products for and make an educated decision rather than just saying to yourself (I'm new so I'm going to start cheap). You don't always have to start cheap just because no one knows you, as long as what you're selling is honest and it does what you say it does, you're good to go.
Profitable relationships are refined over time not bought overnight.
The people on you E-mail list need to be given weekly if not daily content so they don't forget you and always give them nuggets of value something that costs you nothing to provide and gives them something in return. This is how you keep the people on your E-mail list interested in your brand and will be more likely to invest in you when the time is right for them.
Invest in a autoresponder.
This will save you tons and tons of time, most of the decent options are paid ones but they are worth it in the long run. I don't know a single online marketer that doesn't have one of these. Mailchimp and Awebber are among the best ones and most widely used by online entrepreneur's. I personally use Mailchimp and you can set up an account with them for free and have up to 2000 subscribers.
Besides Ads where does the bulk of my online income come from?
It comes mostly from creating your own product to sell but if you can't come up with your own product, then you can sell other people's products through affiliate ads. Click bank or the Amazon Associates Program is a great place to start with this. I sell intro and outros for YouTube as well as making money off all my ads from Amazon and Google adsense, but the bulk of my income comes from creating graphics from people.
When do I start selling to the people on my E-mail list?
If you have a product to promote, then start selling right away or you can prime your E-mail list subscribers for a future sale. One thing not to do though is spam you list or blast your list constantly with sales pitches (no body likes spam), but everyone appreciates someone who is knowledgeable about a subject and shares information. So, always give away free information just don't give away your "cash cow" for free, by that I mean your main product.
Give away a free product before you try to sell a product.
Once you acquire an E-mail list you will always want to give away some free information and then give away a free quality product that will benefit your subscribers in some way, doing this will spark the interest of future paid customers. I am going to be giving away a free E-book here soon so please look forward to that!
Do I need paid ads to promote my website to get traffic?
Simple answer is no, there's nothing wrong with paid ads but generally organic subscribers are always better than paid ones. In other words the people that found your content from the search engine because they were interested in your niche, those guys will always be easier to convert to customers rather than someone that just happened upon your website from a paid ad. When you're starting out it's best not to go to deep into paid ads because you can spend a ton of money quickly with the chance of little results.
Use social media to your advantage it's free!
Social media is essential to generating free traffic to your website because you can use it to link back to your website and healthy backlinks to your website means a you get a boost in your search engine optimization.
